Yesterday evening the Blackberry went down for a couple of hours due to a technical problem with the email servers.
Now, unless you have a crackberry, er.. blackberry, that does not seem like a big deal. I know there were many comments in the media about people walking like zombies without their email. People with blank expressions shuffling down the road and pressing buttons that did nothing. Probably moaning “e-m-a-i-l” or something.
I do not have a blackberry myself, I chose the Palm TX instead. It means I have to be near a hot spot to get my email but the data charges on most Canadian service providers is just too high right now.
The truth of the matter is some people use the amazing technology to save lives. Some Fire Departments and rescue teams rely on it to help locate victims of accidents and save them before it is too late.
Some people do need to lay off the Blackberry a bit but it is a very cool and very useful piece of technology!
